Want to learn some Hebrew in a dynamic and musical setting? Get moving! In this unique and vibrant course, you will learn Hebrew through Israeli  folk dance.

"Dancing with Hebrew" is open to all UW students; no prerequisites. Students with  background in the language and students with no background are equally welcome; assignments will be tailored to meet your skill level.

Folk dancing  is a significant part of Israeli culture, one that developed  almost simultaneously  with the revival of  the Hebrew language. It helped unite the people of Israel and crystallize their national identity. This course will also teach about the history of Israeli folk dancing, about the people who played a role in its making, and about the ways these dances have evolved over the years.
