The research project, An Oral History of Turkish Americans in the Pacific Northwest Region, aims to record and preserve the oral history of people who immigrated from Turkey to the Pacific Northwest Region in the United States. The overarching goal of the study is to investigate the notion of identity—be it immigrant, religious, ethnic, national, or language, which has been one of the fundamental questions of philosophy from Socrates to Freud, among Turkish Americans in the region.
